The Garden Days in October 2016

100 years of the battle of Passchendaele in Beervelde!

The third battle of Ypres, also known as the battle of Passchendaele (and internationally known as Passchendaele), was a major battle that in 1917 during the first world war by British, ANZAC and Canadian forces on the one hand and on the other hand, the German army was fought to the Ypres salient.

One of the trenches was, in cooperation with the Memorial Museum Passchendaele 1917 and their reenactors, reconstructed at the park of Beervelde.

They have reconstructed everything in and around this rear trench, of course behind the first lines.
